BLOCK PRINTING FOR CHANGE:
As civil rights activist Toni Cade Bambara once said, “The role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible.” Community rooted art is the center for visual resistance that expresses the will of the people. I use block printing as resistance for people powered movements in my community, for guerrilla printing on posters and clothes because money and access to fancy gear should not prevent people from expressing their views.
I offer graphic design and block printing workshops for community organizations and organizers interested in elevating their visual messaging for social change. Contact me if you are interested in collaborating or hosting a workshop.
BLOCK PRINTING WORKSHOPS
Block printing offers a unique and beautiful way of decorating clothes, bags, and endless other items for people who are looking for something special. I offer custom made blocks and workshops at schools, community centers, schools, libraries, as well as private parties.
Block printing can be a very affordable way of creating custom images and printing for masses of people and can be a great way of fundraising in small and large scales. I have worked closely with schools and nonprofit organizations to provide custom images that many can wear with their own well-fitting clothes, assuring a seamless image for any and all to wear.
I also offer private party printing such as baby showers- I create a custom image that reflects names, images or ideas for you and bring a collection of blocks for you and your loved ones to print on baby clothes or swaddles that are up to your standard of quality. It's a fun activity for all to participate in, and leave a plethora of uniquely designed and decorated items.
